Appeal for witnesses after man assaulted in Barrow

Cumbria Police is appealing for witnesses following an incident in the Salthouse Road area of Barrow this morning (1 Jan). Police were contacted at around 7.45am this morning reporting a man had been stabbed, suffering a neck injury. Emergency services attended and a man in his 30s was taken to hospital. He is in a stable condition with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. An 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Anyone who witnessed this incident or the moments leading up to it – or anyone who has any other information which may assist police – is urged to come forward.
